Removing duplicates used to involve a few steps and worksheet functions. This page will show you the old method. With the introduction of Excel 2007, Microsoft has introduced a new function called "Remove Duplicates" which simplifies the whole process.
Let's supposed you have a list of data with multiple columns. To use function, you need to identify the column(s) which contains the duplicates. Then select the whole range, go to the data tab, find the "Remove Duplicate" icon. It is located in the right half of the ribbon, within the Data Tools group. Click on the icon, uncheck the columns that are not causing the duplicate records. Click OK and the function will remove all the duplicated rows.
